French Immersion Learning Assistance teacher to support literacy needs of students at Keating and Deep Cove. Must have Learning Support experience/classes. Must be French Immersion Qualified Primary
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Education (Elementary)
Major in French and fluency equivalent to a native speaker in both written and oral French
Board certified to teach French Immersion
University course work related to supporting student learning needs such as:
Student Exceptionality
Assessment for Special Education
Collaboration and Consultation in Special Education
Behavioural, Social and Emotional Needs
Assistive Technology
Teaching Students with Developmental Difficulties
Differentiating Instruction/Inclusive Classrooms
Advanced Assessment and Intervention
Desired Characteristics/Attributes:
Demonstrated successful classroom/Learning Assistance experience
Demonstrated aptitude and desire to work with elementary school learners
Demonstrated use of highly successful instructional strategies in the classroom for elementary school age students
Ability to work closely as a member of a team
Effective communication skills, demonstrated through positive relationships with students, staff and parents
